Scourtins

What it is:  Scourtins, sweet and savory olive crisps.

Details:  Three 6.5-ounce bag, $17.99.

Who makes it: Lark Fine Foods, a mother-daughter run operation making small-batch "cookies for grown-ups" out of Essex, Massachusetts since 2008.

Why I love it:  These cookies are a revelation. Simultaneously savory and sweet, packed with salty oil-cured olives, these cookies are unlike anything I've ever tried--and I've tried a lot! These traditional French crisps take on the fruity aspects of olives, which give a raisin-like earthy sweetness along with their salty kick. Like almost everything in Lark's line of not-to-sweet sweets, I like to think of these as "mommy's cookies"--the perfect treat to keep all to myself.

How I’ll use this in my kitchen:  These cookies would be dreamy on a cheese or charcuterie plate, a playful take on olives as an appetizer. I think of them as a double duty cookie/cracker, perfect for piling on a slice of pair, a dab of cream cheese, or a shaving of salty Parmesan.
