Ann's Raspberry Farm

The company:  Ann's Raspberry Farm & Specialty Crops, a family-run farm located in Ohio's Amish country that produces exquisite preserves from the bounty of their own land.

The people:  Ann and Dan Trudel, husband and wife team that together, tend the crops, harvest the bounty and turn it into exquisite farmstead preserves. 

Why we picked them:  Great preserves are only as good as the quality of the ingredients that go into them. In the case of Ann's Raspberry Farm, these ingredients include just-picked Autumn Bliss, Carolina and Heritage raspberries at the height of their ripeness and Brussels sprouts tended by loving hands. That the Trudel family organically grows, tends, harvests and preserves their own bounty is unique. That they do it with such skill is impressive. Ann has long been known for her preserves, a tradition passed down from her mother and her mother's mother before that. Recognized as a 2011 Good Food Award winner, a current finalist for 2012, and considered one of "10 Truly Artisanal Foods To Try Now" by Forbes Magazine, Ann's Raspberry Farm preserves are garnering fans by the spoonful.
