Who makes it:  Loulou's Garden, master preserver in Escalon, California

Why I love it:  Loulou's Garden sources the finest organic blueberries from a nearby farm along the Madera River in the San Joaquin Valley and puts them up in fine fashion.  This jam is thick, dark and full of sweet ripe berry goodness.  The blueberries have only a short three-week season during which they're so naturally sweet, which means minimal sugar during processing and maximum flavor for us.  They also added a splash of Meyer Lemon Juice to round the whole thing out.

How I’ll use this in my kitchen:  Blueberry hand pies are in my future as are homemade blueberry jam pop tarts!  I love this jam spread over buttermilk biscuits or warmed, splashed with a shot of balsamic vinegar and spooned over Almond pudding.  And you can't go wrong with a blueberry jam and Almond Butter sandwich.
