New Product Alert: The Good Batch

The company:  The Good Batch, a small batch baking company satisfying sweet tooths in Brooklyn, NY since 2009.

The people:  Pastry Chef & Founder, Anna Gordon, crafting better than the best homestyle baked goods.

Why we picked them:  Bakers make good friends, and buttering up can beget the finest of treats. Anna Gordon's friends are a lucky lot and more Dutch than not. After begging this baker to recreate their own authentic taste of home, the Dutch Stroopwafel, or Caramel Cookie Waffle, Anna acquiesced. She set to task, baking, tasting and tweaking her recipe, only content when it passed native Nederlander approval. It did, and then some. Now Anna's sharing her Classic Stroopwafel with a wider circle of friends - us! She's also small-batch baking her own twist on the original, along with a bevy of other baked goods that are better than anything I could ever dream of making myself. Her style of baking is rustic and familiar, defined by deep flavor and a terrifically comforting bite.
